While providing scholarships to students is a very rewarding feeling we cannot forget the reason why the Lisa Michelle Memorial Fund was created. The LMM Fund was created to honor the life of Lisa Miller who passed away due to her addiction to prescription medication and help students cope with a loss similar to what Lisa’s children went through. Addiction affects both the addict and their families.

Each student who submits an application for our scholarship has gone through the 5 stages of grief sometimes while trying to pursue their degrees. Some of these stages make common daily tasks difficult to complete making working towards a degree ever more difficult. The students we are helping prove to be strong in so many ways and work through their grief to ensure they finish college and make a better life for themselves.
