Thank You To Besame Cosmetics – Brunch Fundraiser Donor

We’d like to thank Besame Cosmetics for their donation to our Spring Brunch Fundraiser raffle and/or silent auction. The items are on their way, but we were so grateful and excited that we wanted to give thanks before getting the specifics of what we received from this wonderful company. We will be sharing pictures soon!

About Besame Cosmetics

“Bésame Cosmetics was founded in 2004 out of a fascination with art, history, and beauty; a vintage makeup brand which honors the style, spirit, and sensibility of female beauty.

Through a keen eye for color and historical expertise, we recreate modern reproductions of classic luxury makeup from the 1920s, ‘30s, ‘40s, and ‘50s, designed to make women feel elegant, inspired, and empowered by their beauty. Pairing innovative, cutting edge technology with a historical milieu, our colors and formulations are painstakingly hand-crafted to a minutia of detail, from our custom-designed gold compacts to our signature chrysanthemum motifs. Based in Southern California, Bésame understands Hollywood’s ongoing fascination with the vintage aesthetic, and often helps production designers recreate accurate makeup displays for period film and television (catch a glimpse of our Crimson Rouge tin in the 2012’s Academy Award-winning film, “The Artist”).”

Children of Addiction Awareness Week Feb 11th-17th – Help Spread the Word

The Lisa Michelle Memorial Fund was founded to assist students who have lost a parent to addiction. We want to also promote and spread the word about other worthy causes who help those children of addicts.

The Children of Addiction Awareness Week is coming up starting February 11-17, 2018.

“Addiction is now a national health epidemic. Overdose rates are on the rise. Every child or teen living with parental addiction is vulnerable to the pain, isolation, and fear every single day. But it doesn’t have to be that way!

COA Awareness Week — recognized around the world during the week Valentine’s Day falls — honors the struggle of these children who live with parental addiction. This year’s theme — Empowering Children to Heal — highlights the importance of providing kids and teens with support, guidance, and encouragement to heal.”

The National Association for Children of Addiction (NACoA) believes that none of these vulnerable children should grow up in isolation and without support.

To help in these efforts, they do the following:

• We work to raise public awareness.
• We provide leadership in public policy at the national, state, and local levels.
• We advocate for appropriate, effective and accessible education and prevention services.
• We facilitate and advance professional understanding and action.
• have affiliate organizations throughout the country, Great Britain, Germany and Canada and support the development of affiliates in Brazil and Poland.
• publish a bi-monthly newsletter
• create videos, booklets, posters and other educational materials to assist natural helpers to intervene and support children
• host this site on the Internet with information about and ways to help children of alcoholics and other drug dependent parents.
• send information packets to all who ask, and
• maintain a toll-free phone available to all.

Help spread the word and bring awareness to this cause!
